Preparing for a Post-Christian Culture (Part 6)

As we address the time in which we live and the forces at work, we can become overwhelmed.  What should we do?  Is there any hope?

There is always hope, since God is a God of hope.  Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  Since we rely on God for our salvation, we can also turn to him for direction and aid.  The following are five things we can do as we hear God speak to us in His Word.

One, apologetically defend the faith, explaining why Christianity matches reality best.

Second, socially fight the cultural battle, because law follows culture.

Third, legally defend freedom of religion, enshrined in the First Amendment.

Fourth, historically show religion is special and serves the public good.

And fifth, spiritually prepare for persecution.

In the next blogs we’ll detail these five points more thoroughly.  Our help is in the Lord.  Remember Ephesians 6:10 which says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”
