Noah’s Flood evidence (Part 1)

There are four main geologic evidences for the Flood. First, fossils of sea creatures are found high above sea level on every continent. Amazingly, even the Himalayas of Nepal, with the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, have marine fossils there. Why is that? Because Mount Everest, like all other land masses, was under water, as the Genesis account tells us. Earlier we discussed catastrophic plate tectonics, and mentioned that the oceans would have flooded the continents. For that to happen, water would have to be added to the ocean, from the “springs of the great deep” bursting open due to some enormous earthquake. Furthermore, the ocean floor would have to rise, due to the rising mantle. Consequently, the sea creatures that once lived in the ocean had to be deposited on the continents by a rising sea level. Or as Psalm 104:5-9 says, “You covered it (the earth) with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight; they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them. You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.”

In this text, the psalmist explains that God flooded the entire earth, covering the mountains, until the waters sank into the ocean valleys, running off the mountains. Never again will the waters cover the earth as God promised. That’s how marine fossils were deposited. The mountains of the pre-Flood world were probably not as high as they are today; perhaps only six to seven thousand feet in elevation. Nonetheless, after being deposited there due to the Flood, there were significant seismic upheavals that projected the mountains to their present elevations, leaving the marine fossils as evidence of the worldwide catastrophe.
